Available in a variety of specialty grades, Nylon is a premium material designed to hold-up in a variety of industries. From industrial manufacturing to food and beverage, construction, pulp and paper, and forestry, Nylon is used. Its overall toughness, rigidity, and wear properties make Nylon perfect for high stress moving parts like bearings, rollers, or gears. Listed below are some of the more common UHMW parts that Plastruct Polyzone will machine for our customers.
Wear Pads
Replace brass or steel wear pads with Nylon. Nylon is lightweight while being able to support heavy loads and are non-abrasive to mating surfaces. Nylon is a premium performer in the family of wear grade materials.
Sheaves & Rollers
Nylon offers better wear resistance, compressive strength and fatigue resistance than other materials in a variety of wear applications.
Bushings & Bearings
Nylon bushings & bearings can be used to replace steel for their enhanced ability to absorb shock or to become a sacrificial part and not damage or destroy other parts of the assembly. Nylon is high-strength, light-weight, are corrosion resistant and can be used in a greater range of environments than metal.
Gears
Gears made of nylon run quieter and wear longer without the need for lubrication on processing equipment.
