Canvas Phenolic grade CE sheet is made of a cotton canvas cloth impregnated with a phenolic resin binder.
Known primarily for its mechanical properties, Phenolic CE sheet is a hard, dense material.
Other combinations of fibers and resins are available as cellulose paper, cotton fabrics, synthetic yarn fabrics, glass fabrics or unwoven fabrics. When heat and pressure are applied to the layers, a chemical reaction (polymerization) transforms the layers into a high-pressure thermosetting industrial laminated phenolic plastic.
Phenolic offers the following benefits:
-
Machineable
-
Low moisture absorption
-
Lightweight
-
Corrosion and chemical resistant
