Acrylic is a more rigid glass like product. Although it is more break resistant than glass, it can still shatter under impact. However acrylic can stand up to scratches and will resist yellowing when exposed to UV in outdoor applications.

Polycarbonate is less rigid than acrylic, however it is known to be unbreakable. This shatter proof material is light weight and high strength. Although it is shatter resistant, polycarbonate is vulnerable to yellowing when exposed to UV and is also vulnerable to scratches.
